TEXTILE ART THAT INSPIRES...

As I'm new to textiles it has been an interesting fresh change browsing for inspiration within this type of art. However I have found many works already that have moved me. While both the top two examples are without much colour I find I am drawn to the image style art of Kearney's work and the abstract almost collage style art of Welsby's. I am taken by the colour and abstract effect of Baldwin's work and appreciate her sense of imagination.

 Cindy Kearney. Storm.

Kearney's work is based on her own photographs. She uses procion dyes and paint for her fabrics.

Sarah Welsby. The Eye Of The Storm.

Inspired by landscapes both natural and industrial and the patterns within them, Welsby uses paper, cloth and stitch.

Louise Baldwin. Do You Want The Truth.Baldwin's pieces incorperate found imagery alongside simple stitch.
